This course is for the absolute beginner. Have you ever wanted to know, in very simple terms, the answers to the following questions:
If you answered yes, then this course is for you. Our goal with this course is to provide a simple, conceptual introduction to the concepts of Cloud Computing, Amazon Web Services, and it's core services. There are no technical explanations or definitions to memorize - this course is visual, and strictly conceptual. When you are done with this course, you will have the conceptual foundation to move forward onto more advanced AWS courses. And by having the frame-of-reference understanding from this course, you will be more prepared to tackle the more complex technical concepts and terminology.
What is the cloud? What is Amazon Web Services? We set out to answer these questions in the most simplistic way possible. No technical terms, no technical definitions. Just some easy-to-understand examples of what these services are and why people use them.
What is a VPC? Touching on a very important feature of AWS, we set out to explain the concept of a VPC in the most simplistic way possible.
What is EC2? In this video, we set out to explain the concept of EC2 in the most simplistic way possible.
What is RDS? In this video, we set out to explain the concept of RDS in the most simplistic way possible.
What is S3? In this video, we set out to explain the concept of S3 in the most simplistic way possible.
We return to EC2 to discuss another example of how and why it is used.
We take a visual look at how AWS is set up around the globe. We start with a global map, and drill down to a local data center.
