I have been playing guitar since I was 5, and gigging and teaching professionally for the last 15+ years.  I genuinely love to teach, and the goal of Guitargate is to help people learn the "why" behind the notes, and how to apply this to make music!

So whether you are an aspiring gigging musician, or you just enjoy playing for yourself, let me help you bridge the gap between rhythm and lead guitar.... and get the stuff in your head out!  Seriously - you can do this!!

On a side note, it's truly incredible that the internet has allowed us to connect from all over the world....  I believe in online education, and I strive to be as helpful as possible.  If you post a question or a video for feedback - I will respond and try and help any way I can.

One step at a time -

Lead Guitarist / Musical Director For The Gregg Allman Band

Since the Fall of 2008, Scott Sharrard has been the touring guitarist for the Gregg Allman Band. He’s been called “One of the best guitarists in the country” by Billboard and “the next Eric Clapton or Mike Bloomfield” by the Indianapolis Star Tribune and Gregg Allman, has high praise for the guitarist. “I know all about guitar players —I’ve seen the very best — and Scott Sharrard is the perfect guitarist for my band. He understands that you don’t need to play just for the sake of playing; Scott isn’t one of those guys who thinks they’re getting paid by the note. He never steps on the vocals, and leaves plenty of room for everyone else to do their thing, but when it’s time to solo, Scott delivers, boy.”

While currently acting as Musical Director for Allman and recording a new album in Muscle Shoals, he simultaneously concentrates on his solo act, Scott Sharrard and the Brickyard Band.  They released their self titled debut in 2012 and embarked on a national tour soon after.  Currently a new solo album is in the works with a future release date to be announced soon.
