Wayne Sables trained in contemporary dance before moving in to film and digital technologies, his career began in 2001, since then he has worked extensively across the USA, Europe and the UK, where he is an associate artist at Cast in Doncaster. He is a digital artist, filmmaker, curator, and creative director.
Wayne has created and curated works for Tour de Yorkshire, Hull 2017City of Culture, National CAT Scheme and numerous museums and councils. He created the first interactive dance film with ManMade Youth Dance company and Autin Dance Theatre in 2019 which has gained national attention, as well as pioneering multiple interactive digital art works and light installations.
He is incredibly passionate about engaging communities in high quality arts experiences and empowering audiences. He is a creative leader and regularly works with collaborators and partners to develop strategic engagement projects across the UK.
Wayne’s creative and collaborative practice is rooted within the dance sector. He creates digital dance installations marrying film, new and emerging digital based technologies. He creates interactive film and digital experiences for non traditional audiences. Democratising culture is at the forefront of Wayne’s work. He is a Clore intensive alumni. He is an innovator.
