About me
VICTOR LUCIAN COSTA (CHESCU)
Dear Art Lovers,
It matters to paint something than nothing.
Born in 1957 in Bucharest Romania.
After graduating the fine art college in 1976 I decided to follow a degree in economics which I finished in 1984. I never lost contact with painting and I used to paint almost daily.
I reached a moment in my life when I realized that my time is running fast and felt a void in my soul which can only be filled with painting. This gave a meaning and a purpose to my existence.
Painting is such an adventure. Every time I paint, I am wondering with my imagination and discover new and exciting things about the past, present and future of this wonderful World we're living in.

Sketch for a plastic chronicle:
An exhibition that attracts attention due to the originality of the approach to the marine theme is the one proposed by Mr. Victor Costăchescu. Having assumed the lesson of the forefathers of painting, the artist builds himself in a distinct and distinguished way. He creates his plastic work with the inner construction of his own self captivated by the subject and evolves beautifully and harmoniously from one work to another. His thematic register is vast and encompasses multiple subjects in all genres of painting from landscape to composition, still life and portraiture. The present exhibition mainly presents marines painted in a unique vision full of dynamism, vibrancy and color.
But especially in color the artist defines his own self-reflection style, practically creates his work.
In the present exhibition, the seascapes are the central point of interest that focuses the viewer's attention through the strong expressiveness of the colors and the angle of view. Ships on the turbulent sea or vice versa, calm, sunset or sunrise, painted with burning passion in fiery lights or soothing serenity.
A whole cosmos overflowing and reflected in the glitter of the waters by day or by night. In the balanced and harmonious compositional arrangements,
the images capture the viewer's attention, fascinated by the pure blue of the waters and the sky, but also by the violet that counterpoints with the orange or red of the sky dominated by the moonlit night. I could say that Mr. Victor Costăchescu is a romantic of the seascape seen in multiple poses, which transposes a rich soul and a tumult of emotions overflowing in color.
The complex universe of Victor Costăchescu's art attracts, incites and invites the viewer to participate directly in the subject of each painting.
The art of his reign is original and imprints a style capable of rich creations in the future as well.
