Dr. Taniesha Burke, Ph.D. is a Certified Positive Discipline Parent Educator, Certified and Trained Fascinating Womanhood Teacher, and Developmental Psychology Researcher.
She holds a Ph.D. in Family Relations and Human Development from the University of Guelph, and undergraduate and graduate degrees in Psychology from the University of the West Indies. Dr. Burke has completed training in Adlerian parenting perspective and the strengthening families program.
Before receiving her doctorate, Dr. Burke was a youth advocate and childcare entrepreneur in Kingston, Jamaica. For her work with children and families, the United States Embassy in Kingston selected her to represent Jamaica at The Vital Voices’ Conference for emerging leaders in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Vital Voices is an organization created by Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to empower young women leaders around the world.
Dr. Burke is passionate about building healthy resilient families and child development. She has worked with families in Jamaica, Canada, and Germany through her courses mentorship and coaching programs. Her objective is to continue to support families worldwide through her online courses and workshops.
Dr. Burke is also the author of several peer-reviewed publications and the parenting guide, “Raising the next Barack Obama” and has written several parenting columns in Jamaica’s leading newspaper, The Jamaica Gleaner.
She has a weekly parenting advice vlog on YouTube where she provides tips on non-punitive discipline strategies.
Dr. Burke lives in Berlin, Germany, with her family.
