Richard was educated at Greenock Academy and Edinburgh University and has been at the forefront of many national business and elearning projects, since establishing a technology-based training consultancy in 1996. Previously, he had been a Business Studies lecturer, and then between 1999 – 2002 he was a director of an ebusiness company leading large scale projects, managing client relationships, and developing company policy and practices. In early 2002 he re-established his consultancy business and has since worked for a range of public agencies and companies across the UK and internationally. He was a founder member of the Scottish eLearning Alliance and on the management committee. He has also been Vice Chair, treasurer and a committee member of the West of Scotland branch of CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development) and Professional Adviser to University of the West of Scotland. Richard has extensive experience of managing consultancy projects where HR and technology coincide. His skill is ensuring that the human dimension of initiatives is not overwhelmed by technology and that the opportunities provided by IT are fully realised by the client organisation.
