Renato Cantini is a trumpeter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and music therapist from Florence.

He studied trumpet at the Livorno Conservatory and the Siena Jazz Academy. He graduated in music therapy. After obtaining his diploma, he took specialisation courses with the most important jazz musicians in Italy: Paolo Fresu, Nico Gori, Mario Raja, Giancarlo Schiaffini and Bruno Tommaso.

After a long period of study, he collaborated on national and international recordings and musical projects.

He has an intense recording career as a composer and sideman. He has composed for cinema and commercials.

He is very active in the theatre scene throughout Italy, where he performs in the most important theatres, such as the Ariston in Sanremo and the Teatro Puccini in Florence. He has recorded and performed in New York, Salzburg and France.

He has released recordings with major record labels and television networks such as IRMA records, Mediaset, and Fractal Infinity.

He currently teaches at one of the most important academies in Florence, where he is head of the trumpet, music therapy, and modern music departments, teaching trumpet technique, digital production, and the use of music as a means of social inclusion
