About me
Hello and welcome! I am an Ontario-based yoga instructor, fascial fitness trainer and movement enthusiast. I share my love of movement and wellness through my growing YouTube channel, “Yoga with Rachel.”
In relation to my core beliefs and values, I strive to create safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces for all. I encourage all participants to show up to each practice exactly as they are; whether you are feeling happy, sad, frustrated, overwhelmed, excited, tired or unmotivated. The main thing is that you show up. I create opportunities for play and exploration on the mat. I’ve experienced firsthand what play can do for one’s internal ecosystem. Play can spark creativity and feelings of joy, which can do wonders for the nervous system. In addition, play can help release trapped or stuck emotions within the body. I create movement practices that invite us to explore our response to wins, challenges and setbacks. Finally, my classes explore the deep connection that exists between the mind and body. Our words and thoughts have power. These thoughts and words can impact how we feel mentally, emotionally and physically.
In my spare time, I enjoy dancing, reading, being outside in nature and playing board games. One of my favorite games is called “Exit.” It is a board game escape room. I appreciate this game because it encourages me to “think outside the box” for a solution, and I find it neat because you sometimes have to destroy certain game pieces in order to crack the code.
