Peter trained with the College of Clinical & Medical Hypnosis to  Advanced Practitioner level. He is a member of the General Hypnotherapy  Register and currently runs Forest of Dean Hypnotherapy. Peter has studied Integral Eye movement Therapy and is a qualified IEMT Practitioner.

Peter Smith founded the balloon printing company Folkdean in 1980 and worked in the balloon industry until 2018. In the 1990's Peter trained and obtained Basic and Intermediate certificates in Balloon Decorating techniques with NABAS the UK balloon association. Peter was well known in the UK balloon industry and  twice served as a committee member of NABAS. In the past Peter  organised  training courses for balloon professionals just entering the UK balloon industry in association with NABAS. 

Peter is also a partner in Sonnyboy's Music Store who are harmonica specialists.
