I have 18 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, starting in 2002 as a fresh graduate with Schlumberger as a Repair and Maintenance Technician. After 4.5 years in that role, I worked my way up to become an MWD Specialist for 3.5 years at Schlumberger, followed by 1 year as an MWD Engineer with Halliburton.
Determined to grow, I transitioned into a Directional Driller role, gaining total 9 years of hands-on experience with Weatherford in Saudi Arabia, Baker Hughes in Vietnam and Myanmar, COSL in Indonesia, and Schlumberger in Australia. I then served as a Drilling Supervisor for Pertamina Indonesia for 2 years. During this time, I had a 4-year career break due to the oil and gas downturn and worked at very small directional drilling companies..
Throughout my career, knowledge sharing has been one of my greatest strengths. I’ve trained and mentored new technicians, helped a colleague step into my role as R&M Team Leader, and was assigned as a mentor in 2008 to train junior MWD Engineers and Specialists. As a Directional Driller, I successfully trained MWD Engineers, Mud Loggers, Drillers, and one RSS Technician friend straight to become Directional Drillers. I also actively support and encourage rig crews and engineers to take the next step in their careers, offering guidance based on their individual situations and operational needs. I take great pride in seeing them grow and succeed.
I’ve spent years helping others grow in their oil and gas careers, and now I’ve launched Offshore Nation — a platform focused on career development for oil and gas professionals. Together with other experienced industry experts, we provide online training and guidance to help more people reach their career goals. We've walked this path ourselves, and now we're here to open the same doors for you — supporting your journey every step of the way.
