About me
DON'T LET ANYONE, INCLUDING YOURSELF, TELLS YOU THAT YOU CAN'T.
I am an underdog most of my life. Growing up in a mentally abusive family, I was told I will always be useless and a failure.
I spent most of my life feeling frustrated, angry inside and acting normal outside. Down deep, I always feel like I was not good enough.
Career-wise I was going nowhere, 8 jobs in 5 years and some years I was unemployed, I was dragging myself to work every day working for someone else dream hoping this will end one day.
I abused alcohol for years and went through an emotional eating period to escape reality until I was obese, high cholesterol level with a declined liver function. A year later I broke my ankle and that was the wake-up call, I have 2 options, either I stay miserable or really do something to change my life so I decided to fix my health first.
I dropped 25 pounds of Fats, have my cholesterol level and liver function back to normal. For the first time in my life, I feel like I am something, I can achieve whatever I put my mind into. It feels great to be in control of my own life. Confidence breed confidence, no matter how small the task I accomplished.
I read a lot of self-help books that slowly change my mindset, I started to believe myself more and more each day. I started to get out of the comfort zone and despite a lot of people's concern, in my 30s I left the corporate world in pursuit of my passion for fitness and helping people with similar struggles to get strong mentally and physically.
It's never too late to find your path. I made the decision to start over at 30 years old while my friends are all advancing in their careers and buying houses but my point is don't compare, we all have our unique path and pace.
They said I won't survive in the fitness industry for more than a year and its 4 years since then and I am still standing. COVID has shut down my business twice this year but as an underdog, I was used to be at the bottom and fight back up again. We got nothing to lose. I guess this is one of our advantages.
I don't know who is watching this but if one of you read this post and started to believe in yourself I consider I had done my job well. No matter how much you are struggling now and in the past, don't give up, believe in yourself even the world seems to be against you. We always have the power inside us to change. We already have what it takes to change our own lives and once you take care of yourself you can go and change others' lives.
When I was young no one gave me hope but today I will be the one who gives hope.
