About me
Michela Battaglia is an engineer with dual specializations in Building Construction Engineering and Environmental Systems from SAPIENZA University of Rome and an Advanced Master’s degree in Sustainable, Bioclimatic, and Self-Sufficient Architecturefrom ANAS (Asociación Nacional para la Arquitectura Sostenible), Valencia.
As the founder of Sustainable Building Now, a company offering consulting and online training on passive, sustainable, and bioclimatic design, Michela is dedicated to creating aesthetically pleasing living spaces that are environmentally conscious and focused on user well-being. At Sustainable Building Now, Michela has developed an online platform where professionals from around the world can create and publish courses focused on sustainability. These courses span various fields, including architecture, environmental studies, and energy, with an unwavering emphasis on sustainable practices.
Author of the eBook Bioclimatic Architecture, Michela has extensive experience in bioclimatic architecture and sustainable facade design, providing unique perspectives to developers and architects striving to enhance the sustainability of their projects. Her specialization enables her to develop design solutions that interact synergistically with the surrounding environment and climate, increasing occupant comfort while minimizing energy consumption for heating and cooling buildings.
In 2024, Michela presented her article The Role of the Givoni Bioclimatic Chart in Shaping a Sustainable Design at the SEE Global Sustainability Summit hosted by the SEE Institute, a prestigious sustainability education and research center based in Dubai. This contribution will be published in 2025 by Springer Nature, highlighting the importance of bioclimatic principles in sustainable design.
Michela is passionate about finding innovative solutions that integrate bioclimatic principles into architectural projects, turning environmental challenges into opportunities to create healthier, more comfortable, and environmentally respectful living spaces.
