Career development is something I’ve been passionate about for a very long time, having spent most part of the last 10 years working on practical learning in the education industry.
I left school at the age of 16 and started working to give me time to figure out what I wanted to study. It didn’t take me long to realise that I loved to learn through practical work, learning and developing skills on the job. I started out in the work-based learning industry delivering educational programmes to young people of London. I enjoyed helping others overcome their fears of the working world and new challenges. I then worked with international educational organisations such as the American Institute for Foreign Study in 2012, a company that delivered cultural exchange programmes and The Intern Group, delivering cultural exchange programs to international students from over 100 countries. Working with so many different people from different cultures has really proved to be a rewarding experience.
In 2020, I founded Steer Up which is an online platform connecting mentors with mentees. Steer Up makes it simple for mentees to seek advice and expertise from mentors who have a great deal of experience in their field. We connect people with mentors to suit their needs (within their budget); whether that’s industry insight, career guidance, goal setting, mindfulness or life coaching.
