About Matt DePaola

Matt DePaola is an investor, finance educator, and Co-Founder of Fundamental Investing Institute, where he teaches investors how to understand businesses, evaluate stocks, and make more thoughtful long-term investment decisions.

Matt brings more than 20 years of experience in investing, business analysis, and consulting to his courses. He holds a B.S. in Finance from Florida Gulf Coast University and an MBA from the University of Florida, and has experience teaching finance and accounting.

His approach to investing begins with a simple idea: a stock represents ownership in a real business. Rather than focusing on short-term price predictions, market trends, or stock tips, Matt teaches students to examine the fundamentals behind an investment.

His courses emphasize practical concepts such as fundamental analysis, financial statements, cash flow, stock valuation, business quality, and the relationship between price and value. His goal is to make these subjects understandable and useful for individual investors without oversimplifying the principles behind them.
