Colonel and Commander Defence Academy aka CCD Academy is an initiative by Lt Cdr Vimalraj S (Retd). He is a Naval Officer who served Indian Navy for about 12 Years as a Short Service Commissioned Officer. He flew Dornier DO-228 Aircraft as a Naval Air Operations Officer for about 08 years. He holds safe flying experience of 1500+ Hours to his wings on varied naval missions including a few secret missions. He was also one of the youngest Naval Executive Officer to Commission an Air Station for Indian Navy (INS Kohassa at North Andaman group of Islands) to counter Chinese threat. He also served as a Group Testing Officer at two Services Selection Boards i.e SSB Kolkata and 12 SSB Bangalore for more than three years to select potential candidates. His contribution was immense to design the future Naval leadership.

CCD Academy was a seed sowed by his mentor Lt Col Jayavel (Retd) and Director fo Defence Academy (Coimbatore) and this institute had trained more than 3000 candidates so far in last decade from TN region and contributed more than 500+ Officers to Indian Armed Forces so far. The duo carried out a research study to analyse and understand the reasons for low contribution of Officers from our state. Based on the survey and studies in various mediums and locations, the issues were pin pointed and they resolved them keeping current trend in mind.

The organisation has 03 Ex-assessors of Services Selection Board with very strong professional knowledge and clarity on assessment. These are strong professionals who were trained by DEFENCE INSTITUTE OF PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCH(DIPR) A PART OF DRDO, Ministry of Defence. The faculty includes one Experienced Interviewing Officer, an effective Psychologist and a Young Group Testing Officer who can relate and understand the mindset of young aspirants so that course correction is easy to achieve. These assessors have served at various Army and Naval SSBs.

The Organisation is fetching results by continuous efforts and unique training methodology which is mainly suiting for the candidates of Tamilnadu region and it is a commitment to transform the personality of aspirants over a long run to make them as Officers.
