I’m a luxury goods enthusiast and have had the pleasure to work as a port and shopping guide for Royal Caribbean and Celebrity cruise lines. Its kind of like being on QVC except everyone gets to know and meet the person behind the camera and you only talk about what’s available in the ports the cruise ship goes to.
The Caribbean islands are a tax and duty-free shopping paradise with an amazing amount of jewelry available. But of course, its important to be formally educated in some way about the industry in my case my education is directly from Debeers and the GIA. Unfortunately my time in the diamond, gemstone, and luxury watch industry started with wanting to learn everything. Quickly it became apparent it does not matter how much you know all that matters is how you can present your knowledge in a beneficial way to help the customer make a decision.
Unfortunately the courses, books and sales educators in the luxury goods sector are not around. No one is teaching this and it’s something that needs to be done my courses will be uploaded bit by bit for free and eventually will change to a small fee. But everyone that joins during the free period will keep access forever for free.
