Kel Story is a certified life coach, behavioral health specialist, and psychiatric technician. His personal journey into psychology crystalized in High School, but took on a fascination of its own as he studied, explored and helped college students with their research papers. Learning became its own reward, but he studied Animation when he got to college instead. Animation impresses the importance of understanding the motivations, goals and objectives of each character or animated object, as well as the importance of how that appears. As a comic nerd, Kel read a comic issue of Iron Man, “Live Kree or Die” in 1998 that had a lasting impact in how he approached life. The Kree are an alien warrior species in Marvel Comics that at that point, had evolved to their fullest potential. That’s not what the plot was about, but the title became a mantra for Kel meaning, “Evolve to and express your fullest potential, or perish.” He’s spent five years as an art teacher, demonstrating to students that regardless of preconceived notions about talent, with guidance, technique, and step by step instruction, skills can be grown, cultivated and mastered while growing confidence and improving the self esteem of his pupils. These are some of the major influences that led to the informal but diligent study of Self-Actualization over the past few decades. He holds a Bachelors in Science from prestigious Woodbury University and has dedicated his life to helping individuals achieve personal growth and fulfillment.
