Hi! My name is Jon Porton. Glad to meet you. I’m a UX researcher/designer with over 30 years technical experience, the last 15 of which focused on UX. I transform products and services for private sector and government organisations.

I love the idea that all products and services are designed around real users needs. I’m a mentor for several junior researchers. I often share my experiences through talks within organisations and public events such as World IA day. I’ve written the occasional blog post and research paper as well. My reason for teaching? If my knowledge and experience can help others build better products, then it’s all worth it.

Clients describe me as a generalist. Someone who can come in and cover all bases and talk to stakeholders at all levels. I try to reflect that in my teachings by combining my UX expertise with my previous web development and marketing experience.
