My training began in early 1986 in
East Boston, Massachusetts where my strong desire to learn the martial arts
gave me the motivation to sign up at the local karate school where I trained 5
days a week. In the early 1990’s I continued my training by learning Aikido and
Jujitsu and then moving on to Thai style boxing and American boxing. After a
couple of years of moving from one school and style to another I chose to
settle into Kenpo Karate under Shihan Joseph Nesta who was one of Professor
Nick Cerio’s highest rank students. I was tested and received 1st
Shodan followed by 2nd Nidan ranks from the late Professor Nick
Cerio (10th Dan). My 3rd dan rank (Sandan) was issued by
Shihan Joseph Nesta (10th Dan). As of this writing, I am still a
student of Shihan Nesta with whom I have been training for over twenty-two
years.
Styles of Training:
Kenpo Karate, Shotokan, Jiu-jitsu, Aikido and Boxing. I also had some lesser
training in Thai style boxing and Tai Chi.
