الدكتور حازم فلاح سكيك حصل على درجة البكالوريوس في الفيزياء والرياضيات في عام 1987 من جامعة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وحصل على درجة الماجستير في الالكترونيات الضوئية في عام 1988 ودكتوراه في عام 1991 من جامعة كوينز في بلفاست. وكان معيداً بعد الدكتوراه في جامعة كوينز حتى نهاية عام 1992.
اعترفت إسهاماته في تعليم الفيزياء للعالم العربي من خلال موقعه الإلكتروني لتعليم الفيزياء الذي أسسه في عام 2001 ليشمل مقالات في الفيزياء بشكل كيف يعمل الأشياء، كما قام بترجمة العديد من الكتب والمقالات والأوراق العلمية، ونشرها جميعًا على موقعه الإلكتروني.
أسس موقع أكاديمية الفيزياء في عام 2009، بناءً على منهجية الدورات الجامعية المفتوحة الضخمة، مع أكثر من 500 محاضرة في الفيزياء جميعها مسجلة ونشرها بنفسه لتنفيذ فصول الدراسة المقلوبة في تعليم الفيزياء.
اختير الدكتور حازم سكيك مؤخرًا من قبل جوائز التعليم لجائزة المعلم العالمي لعام 2020.
Dr. Hazem Falah Sakeek completed his BSc in physics and mathematics at UAE University in 1987, followed by an MSc in Optoelectronics in 1988 and a PhD in 1991 from Queen’s University Belfast. He served as a postdoctoral fellow at Queen’s University until the conclusion of 1992.
His dedication to advancing physics education in the Arab world is evident through his Physics Education website, established in 2001. This platform hosts physics articles and explanations in a "how stuff works" format. Dr. Sakeek has also translated numerous books, articles, and scientific papers, all of which are accessible through his website.
In 2009, he founded the Physics Academy website, employing a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) approach. Over 500 physics lectures, recorded and published by Dr. Sakeek himself, are available on this platform, facilitating the implementation of flipped classroom techniques in physics education.
Dr. Sakeek's contributions to education have been recognized globally. In 2020, he was honored with the Global Teacher Award by AKS Education Awards for his outstanding achievements.
