I've been a recruiter for 18 years. I fell into this career completely by accident, working for 5 years at an IT, network integration firm. When I thought it was time for a change, I set an appointment with a placement firm, thinking that they would place me with one of their clients. Instead, they wanted me to work directly for them as a recruiter! I thought about it...and the rest is history.
I was one of the top-ranked recruiters in the entire country for Robert Half Technology (a Fortune 500 firm), year after year. I had started to become an expert at sourcing candidates via the internet, specifically on LinkedIn.
While it was nice to place hundreds and hundreds of candidates across tons of firms, I thought it would be nice to work internally, sourcing candidates for one company and really helping to build something entire teams within a firm.
I have been an internal, corporate recruiter within Human Resources for 9 years, currently working for one of the largest law firms in the world. My time as a corporate recruiter has also been rewarding…directly seeing an impact that my hires make for a company is a great feeling. Helping hiring managers build out entire teams with very in-demand, but hard to find skill-sets is challenging but fun.
I’m an expert at sourcing, searching and finding great candidates across the wide expanse of the internet, across job boards, LinkedIn, blogs, Github repositories and much more.
My background, both as a headhunter at a search firm and now as an internal corporate recruiter has given me perspective of both worlds.
