Hi, I'm Gavin! I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with bachelor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Astronomy, and I have a Master's degree in Design Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV).
I've worked for NASA, MIT, Mettler-Toledo on engineering projects in topics like thermal modeling, mechanism design, and computational fluid dynamics, and I've even published and presented a research paper on a computational model that I created while working for MIT.
With over 3 years of experience teaching STEM subjects, including my role as head tutor for the University of Maryland Astronomy department, I’ve helped both high school and college students master complex concepts. I focus on breaking down math problems into manageable steps, ensuring students not only know how to solve problems but also understand why it works.
With over 50 five-star reviews on Wyzant, I am an experienced tutor and I have proven myself to be an effective SAT tutor. While teaching, I noticed that the SAT often has clues and patterns, or calculator tricks, that allow students to solve problems faster than the traditional method. Once students have mastered traditional methods, I teach the shortcuts and clues. I'd love to help you unlock the secrets of the SAT!
If you want additional help, I am available for private lessons over Wyzant, at my personalized link (in bio). Please contact me for more information.
