Kia Ora, my name is Gareth and am a Quantity Surveyor (in the US, these are referred to as either estimators, cost consultants, cost engineers, cost analysts, or project cost controllers) by profession.

In 2005, I took the opportunity to move away from the UK and fly to the other side of the world, my home now being New Zealand.

During that time, I have worked on numerous projects, including residential housing, rail carriage maintenance buildings, a world-class conservation ecosanctuary, a retail department store, a sports centre and a coastal ecology laboratory to name but a few.

I also graduated as a primary school teacher back in 2014 and have taught Quantity Surveying to adults at one of New Zealand’s educational establishments.

We all have a path on this earth, and in recent months, I was able to follow my passion and lifelong goal to use my creativity to join the UDEMY family of instructors to provide online learning.
