About me
I am a fan of jeans.
I have been wearing jeans since I learned how to say the word "jeans." I am in love with them. I was so infatuated that I started learning how to make them. Once I learned how to create jeans, including custom selvedge jeans, I began experimenting with their design. For example, I made pants with a pocket so big that it can carry laptops (yes, with an "s"). I even crafted cargo pants with six pockets shaped like chicken drumsticks. Just imagine a chicken drumstick, and that's how they would look. I simply can't stop making them. If those pants were my children, I would have fathered hundreds of them. I am so passionate about jeans that I want to share my appreciation for them with others.
Being a fan of jeans goes beyond wearing them. It encompasses a deep appreciation for the rich history, versatility, and iconic status of this timeless garment. Jeans have become a vital part of contemporary fashion and culture, transcending social and economic boundaries.
The heritage of jeans dates back to the 19th century, when they were primarily worn by laborers due to their remarkable durability. Over time, jeans evolved into symbols of rebellion, counterculture, and youth movements. They were embraced by diverse subcultures like rockers, bikers, and hippies, solidifying their status as a representation of non-conformity and individuality.
Jeans' adaptability is what truly sets them apart. They effortlessly transition from casual to semi-formal settings, making them suitable for any occasion. Whether paired with a t-shirt, button-down shirt, or blazer, jeans have the unique ability to complement various styles and express personal fashion preferences.
Moreover, jeans come in a wide range of fits, washes, and styles, allowing individuals to find their perfect pair based on body shape and personal taste. From skinny jeans to bootcut, straight-leg to flared, the options are virtually limitless. The variety of washes, including dark indigo and distressed, provides even more opportunities for self-expression through fashion.
As a fan of jeans, one can appreciate not only their aesthetic appeal but also the craftsmanship involved in creating a high-quality pair. The quality of the denim fabric and precision of the stitching contribute to the overall durability and comfort of jeans. This admiration may extend to the art of crafting custom jeans, which encompasses selvedge denim, personalized design choices, and unique embellishments.
Being a fan of jeans goes beyond a mere preference for a type of pants. It is a celebration of the cultural significance, versatility, and craftsmanship that jeans embody. It is an acknowledgment of their ability to transcend trends and remain a timeless staple in wardrobes worldwide.
There are people out there who share the same love for jeans as I do, but they may not have the means to obtain a pair. Additionally, some people may not be aware of selvedge jeans or may have forgotten about them. I want to introduce (and perhaps reintroduce) these individuals to the beauty of selvedge jeans. Just like humans, jeans have their unique qualities. My intention is not to produce a bunch of ready-to-wear jeans solely for profit. I am here to share my love story with jeans so that you can also create your own.
