About me
I am presently a University Professor with over 20 years of experience in Higher Education, encompassing teaching, course development, board membership, research, publication, and consulting in various fields. These fields include cybersecurity, cryptography, leadership and management, Disaster Recovery, business management, information assurance, forensics investigation, incident handling response, digital forensics, technology practices, criminal law, and criminal justice. As a professor, my research primarily focuses on cybersecurity and leadership, and I regularly publish papers and present my findings at conferences to contribute to the knowledge base in these areas. I frequently collaborate with industry partners, students, and certification programs that are actively involved in leadership roles or engaged in initiatives such as IT architecture modernization, digital transformation, cybersecurity, or cloud integration. Additionally, attending training sessions is a routine part of my professional development.
Furthermore, as a Doctor of Education specialized in leadership and with over two decades of leadership experience, I have successfully defended and published a dissertation on leadership and continue to provide valuable insights through ongoing research and publications. I hold a Doctorate of Education and multiple master's degrees in Management, Information System Securities, Information System Technologies, and System Public Administration and Management, and a Bachelors Degree of Arts: Sociology Criminal Justice

Throughout my career, I have achieved remarkable success in leading extensive teams and programs in complex and unpredictable circumstances. My expertise lies in the field of cybersecurity, where I have demonstrated exceptional leadership by establishing robust GRC programs and leading cross-functional teams in challenging environments. The prosperity of the business and the security of the mission are always my priority.
Having served as a cybersecurity officer and retired military officer with over 20 years of military service, I possess a diverse skill set encompassing technology, information security, logistics, administration and management, leadership, and transportation. I have worked as a senior cybersecurity executive and gained extensive training, leadership, and management experience in various sectors, including commercial, government, military, energy, and the international community. I possess extensive knowledge across multiple cybersecurity domains and have a proven track record of success in working with CIOs, CISOs, DAOs, and other members of senior management.
I hold an active DOD Top-Secret clearance and multiple certifications, including Certified CISO, CISSP, certified assessor (CCA), and certified encryption specialist. These qualifications ensure that I am a highly qualified cybersecurity leader and professor, an expert in my field, capable of reducing risk for the leaders I serve, and mentoring and teaching others to do the same.
In addition to my professional accomplishments, I have also contributed to NIST's cybersecurity efforts and collaborated with the National Academy of Science on cybersecurity threats. I have been a TEDx speaker, a published author, and a recipient of the CE|H Top 100 Global Award Hall of Fame. My expertise in the field has led me to work as a Technical Editor for CISSP Exam Cram for Pearson Education North America.
My mission is to empower and inspire the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and assist companies in mitigating business risks through cybersecurity. I am dedicated to helping businesses achieve a return on investment by equipping them with the necessary tools and skilled individuals to protect their organization and their valuable customers.
