Chemistry Professor
About me
Dr. Uttama Mukherjee is a seasoned academic Chemistry professor, who holds a doctoral degree in Computational Chemistry. Post her Master's in Chemistry, she was actively involved in the drug discovery and development industry, before delving full-time into her doctoral studies and research.
She is the author of several research papers published in peer-reviewed international journals of repute. Some of these are -
“Computational Study of Proton and Methyl Cation Affinities of Imidazole-based Highly Energetic Ionic Liquids”, Journal of Molecular Modeling, (Springer), 17:2687-2692, 2011.
"Computational Studies on Nitro Derivatives of 1-Hydroxy-1,2,4-triazole", Journal of Energetic Materials, (Taylor & Francis Group), 30:265-281, 2012.
“A Computational Approach to Design Energetic Ionic Liquids”, Journal of Molecular Modeling, (Springer), 19:2317-2327, 2013.
"Invoking Chemical Principles to Predict the Anions of Dihydrooxazole Family as Prospective Carbon Capture Moieties", Computational and Theoretical Chemistry (Science Direct/Elsevier), 1206: 113472, 2021.
She has presented her research papers and posters at various national conferences and symposia including Hyderabad Central University (Hyderabad, 2011) and Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC-Mumbai, 2013).
Currently, she is working as Women Scientist - A in a DST funded project at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) - Pune (India).
She has taught Chemistry at various undergraduate and postgraduate colleges and institutes in India (Mumbai, Pune). She is passionate about teaching and has been doing so since her college days. She is admired by her peers for her unique ability to teach Chemistry in simple language. She now looks forward to reaching out further and helping students across the world achieve their learning objectives in Chemistry successfully.
