About me
Dr. Dickson Adom is a researcher in the pluridisciplinary fields of Humanities such as Cultural Anthropology for Biodiversity Conservation, Environmental Sustainability, Heritage Sites Conservation, Place Identity History, African Art, and Art Installations. He is a lecturer in the Department of Educational Innovations in Science and Technology, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana, Dr. Adom holds a First Class BA Master of Philosophy, and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in African Art and Culture from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is an expert in using traditional knowledge systems and community engagement strategies in nature conservation projects in rural communities. Dr. Adom was recognized as the RUFORUM Young Scientist 2019, a covetous award for honoring young and dynamic African scientists who are extremely promising in their scientific achievements. His benchmark work has been the development of an innovative traditional strategy for biodiversity conservation in that local communities utilize their rich indigenous knowledge systems. His Post Doctoral research scholarship grant financed by the DAAD with funding from the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development, Germany, aims at capacity building in cultural and traditional craft enterprises among host communities in Protected Areas in Ghana to boost ecotourism development. This is a community engagement study to make community members take ownership of PA systems in their regions while supporting conservation interests. For his scholarly and academically rigorous peer review activities for top-ranked publishers and journals such as SAGE Open, Taylor and Francis (African Identities), Springer, Elsevier, and many others, he received the 1% Global Top Reviewer Award from Publons, New Zealand in 2018. He is a certified Publons Academy mentor and a Diamond Level Author at Ezines (U.S.A.), with over a hundred research journal publications, more than twenty book chapters, and over 200 e-articles. He has been appointed as a full visiting professor in Humanities specializing in Cultural Anthropology at the CBM International University (Hawaii USA, 2023).
