About me
Carla has worked for the past seventeen years as a Professional Development Coordinator for a multi-school, special education cooperative in central Indiana and currently works as the Assistant Director of Special Education for Westfield Washington Schools in Westfield, IN. She provides training, coaching and consulting services to special education /general education staff, administrators and non-certified staff. She is a member of the district's autism resource team and provides leadership to Westfield's team of speech language pathologists. Carla has a Masters Degree in Speech Language Pathology from Indiana University and is a member of the Indiana Speech and Hearing Association. She worked several years as a speech language pathologist for school districts in Arizona and Indiana. She is the president and owner of The Butorac Group and posts a weekly blog and video on special education best practices and resources including apps, books and materials on her website. She is a published author and speaks at conferences, workshops and develops special education materials for educators and families with children with special needs. She has presented at state and national conferences and has taught classes at the university level. She has worked with students of all ages and in all areas of disabilities.
