I have several years experience as an English teacher.  My students are mostly adult learners who can read English but don't understand spoken English very well.  I am fascinated by languages and can speak Italian and English fluently.  Speaking two languages helps me predict what phrases will be difficult for students.  I design my courses with two primary objectives: 

     1.) to help students understand spoken English 

     2.) to engage students in speaking/rehearsing 

     and two secondary objectives: 

     1.) to highlight pronunciation 

     2.) to reinforce basic grammar 

     When I'm not teaching or translating I enjoy studying.  My favorite topics are religion, history, medicine, science and linguistics.
