About me
Ms. Stafford has an MPH and has worked for over a decade as a public health educator, community resource coordinator, and training specialist for local and state health departments. Ms. Stafford has collaborated with shock trauma, emergency medical, and health departments to improve community response to emergency situations, to improve the health of communities, to promote disease prevention and to access health and community resources. As an educator, Ms. Stafford has facilitated groups of individuals seeking to obtain more information about health resources and services in their communities. Ms. Stafford has also created programs to increase health literacy rates in communities of low socioeconomic backgrounds in order to reduce healthcare disparities in underserved populations. Ms. Stafford has previously facilitated speaking engagements to advocate for the rights of disabled persons, to increase awareness of high rates of maternal and infant death in communities of minorities, and has advocated for exposure of implicit biases in state operated healthcare facilities.
These series were created to use as a supplementary tool to increase awareness of health inequities in poor and rural communities, to promote positive health behaviors, and to increase access to health care resources and information to people in underserved areas.
