Mostafa is a seasoned geotechnical engineer and academic with over 25 years of industrial and research experience. He holds both Master’s and PhD degrees in geotechnical engineering, reflecting his deep expertise in the field.
Throughout his career, Mostafa has held several prestigious positions. As an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia in Perth, he contributed to the academic advancement of geotechnical engineering.
In industry, Mostafa has worked in senior roles, including Principal Geotechnical Engineer with Advanced Geomechanics (now Fugro) in Perth, where he led numerous offshore projects. He also served as an Associate at Arup, taking on the role of Geotechnical Numerical Lead for the Australasia region. In this capacity, he delivered innovative solutions for a wide range of complex projects, including the design and analysis of deep excavations, tunneling, pile foundations, retaining structures in challenging soils, and offshore foundations.
Mostafa is recognized for his expertise in advanced numerical modelling, particularly using PLAXIS and ABAQUS. His skills encompass both onshore and offshore geotechnical applications, making him a sought-after expert in the field.
