About me
Ashley got her start working as a behavioral technician in a Philadelphia public school. She ran therapeutic groups for kids and worked with teaching staff to manage difficult behaviors. Ashley fell in love with the work and went on to get a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work. She began training as a child therapist completing 3600 hours of post-graduate supervision to obtain her highest clinical license. Ashley has been working in the field of mental health for 18 years in the home, school, community and private practice setting, and has worked with thousands of children and families to help them overcome challenges, understand one another, and build better relationships.
Over the last almost two decades Ashley has been trained in dozens of modalities and clinical interventions but is known for creating a shame-free and fun environment for students and clients to learn and feel safe.
Ashley founded Open Door Counseling in 2019 where she maintains a full-time private practice where she serves adults, children and families, in addition to teaching, lecturing and consulting.
