About me
Akın Mutlu is a music educator, guitarist, performing artist, music producer, and educational content creator. Introduced to music at an early age, Mutlu was a member of the TRT İzmir Polyphonic Youth Choir from 2014 to 2017, where he gained valuable experience in polyphonic choral music, vocal training, and stage performance.
In 2018, he began his undergraduate studies in the Department of Music Education at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. During his university years, he focused particularly on classical guitar, developing his instrumental technique, musical knowledge, and repertoire. Throughout this period, he had the opportunity to study with distinguished guitar educators, including Prof. Kazım Çokoğullu and Assistant Professor H. Yılmaz Küçüköncü. In 2022, he graduated at the top of his department.
Continuing his academic career, Mutlu began his master’s degree at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in 2023. During his postgraduate studies, he specialised particularly in vocal education and classical guitar accompaniment. He also conducted studies on Turkish music, the accompaniment of Turkish folk songs on the guitar, and polyphony, subsequently completing his master’s degree.
Since 2016, Mutlu has provided individual and group music lessons to students of different ages and proficiency levels, ranging from children to adults and from beginners to advanced learners. He teaches classical guitar, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, piano, vocal training, music theory and harmony, ear training, aural skills, and preparation for the special talent entrance examinations of music schools.
Rather than applying the same teaching method to every student, he develops a personalised programme based on each student’s age, level, learning style, and individual goals. His educational approach is founded on clear instruction, structured progression, regular feedback, and the reinforcement of theoretical knowledge through practical application.
Alongside his in-person teaching activities, Akın Mutlu has brought music education into the digital sphere through the comprehensive video courses he has developed. More than 20,000 students have enrolled in his Udemy courses, which cover 11 different subject areas, including guitar, vocal training, ukulele, music production, and composition. His systematic teaching style, practice-oriented lesson structure, and educational content that enables students to progress at their own pace have received positive feedback from learners at various levels.
In addition to his work as an educator, Mutlu maintains an active performance career, appearing as a guitarist and vocalist in solo, duo, and group projects. By performing at concerts, festivals, and private events, he brings together his educational expertise and live performance experience.
In 2021, he entered a music competition organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports as a member of Troia Quintet and won first place in Türkiye. In 2024, he entered the same competition again with the band Karambol and won first place in the Marmara Region. In these projects, he played an active role not only as a guitarist but also in musical arrangement and stage performance.
In 2025, he founded Akın Mutlu Studio, expanding his work in education and live performance to include professional music production services. Akın Mutlu Studio provides vocal and instrumental recording, musical arrangement, backing-track production, audio editing, mixing, mastering, and comprehensive music production services. Artists and musicians are supported throughout the different stages of the production process in accordance with the needs, creative direction, and musical identity of each project.
Through his work, Akın Mutlu aims to bring together his academic background in music education, many years of teaching experience, stage performance, and creative music production under one roof. He continues to create across a wide range of musical fields—from education and live performance to digital content and studio production—while sharing his knowledge and experience with students, artists, and audiences.
