Description

Our Vision

Reveal the timeless truths unfolding from the Bible’s pages.

Our Aim

Through a unique blend of Bible study, performance, Biblical scholarship, discussion and personal reflection, we aim to present relevant historical background, provide understanding, offer emotional connection, and encouragement to live out the timeless truths of scripture.

Our Approach

We've designed each character study to begin with historical background for the character, then a basic Bible study for you to do, so you can see for yourself what the text actually says.

Then we'll show you an artistic concept--a performance--of that character, along with life application questions.

The final piece is a lecture, wrapping up the study, and offering some thoughts on how to live out the wisdom you've gained.

Each segment of the study includes a 10 to 20 minute video, with a written character study sheet, and a written Bible study sheet, which you can spend as much, or as little, time on as you would like.

Our Hope

This study is designed for those new to prayer and the Bible.

Ancient Voices, Sacred Stories: Introduction
2 Lectures 13:01

We love God, and we love His word, so we're hoping you'll be interested in joining us on this grand adventure of discovering all the dimensions and facets of what God has in store for us in the Bible.

Throughout our studies we'll be quoting clips from the Bible. Anything that doesn't say it's from the King James Version (KJV) will be from the New International Version (NIV). However, there are lots and lots of Bible translations out there; so please, you pick whichever one you're most comfortable with.

If you're new to the Bible--or curious about our take on things--we've prepared some sections to cover the basics of Bible Study and Prayer. Then we jump into our main topic, Sarah's story.

Many people have come to learn the power and joy of experiencing God's words made personal in the form of prayer.

Opening to the Psalms, or one of the many written prayers in the Bible, as well as reading through God's words of affirmation, love, promises, and wisdom.

This is an example of praying scripture, as well as following our suggested simple way of praise, thanksgiving, and appeal to God.

Bible Teacher

Teaching the Bible to change lives, Joanne led and taught a Bible class of 350-500 students from 2003 to 2013. She currently serves as an advisor and mentor to eight area Bible classes with an international Bible study. But her great love for the Bible began as a child, watching the men in synagogue pray the words of scripture, murmuring and weeping, lovingly touching and kissing the Torah.

When she received her own Bible at church in 1970, she read the whole book, from preface to concordance, with transcendent joy, knowing these were the very words of God. Since then, Joanne has taught Bible in Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, Retreats, Studies, and more.

Also a long-time "armchair archaeologist," Joanne joined the Board of Directors for the Biblical Archaeology Forum in 2013.

Another passion for Joanne is the healing work of counseling, and currently serves as a lay counselor in affiliation with The Lay Counselor Institute since 2012.
