We suggest you close your eyes as you listen so that you can fully relax. You can download the mp3 audio files to your ipod, smartphone or other mobile device and listen to them anywhere!

For optimal sound use headphones.

Each day you will experience a different guided audio meditation. There are many styles of meditation and the trick is finding the one that works best for you. Some people prefer visualization while others prefer mantras or guided body meditations. You will experience ten different meditations in this challenge. Each one explores a different 'style' or technique so by the end you can decide which meditation works best for you. They are all very simple meditations meant to introduce you to the concept of meditation.

Welcome to Day 1 of the Meditation Challenge.

Today we will meditate by observing the breath. Observation of the breath is one of the most basic meditation practices you can do. It is the most important meditation in many traditions and lays the foundation for more advanced techniques. Although it is extremely simple it is very effective at calming the mind and clearing excessive and repetitive thoughts.

According to traditional Chinese medicine and ancient meditation practices, the body has several energy centers. Qi or energy flows into and out of these energy centres. When we are healthy and happy these energy centres are flowing smoothly. When we are sick, stressed, or out of balance the energy is deficient, excess, or stagnant. The most important energy centre or chakra in the body is the Dan Tian, which means lower heaven. Today's meditation will focus on Dan Tian.
