Dr. Yasas Sri Wickramasinghe is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Human Interface Technology Laboratory New Zealand (HIT Lab NZ), University of Canterbury, specializing in Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), spatial computing, and immersive user experiences.

Alongside his research career, he is a Senior Lecturer teaching postgraduate courses in Strategic Information Systems Planning, Database Management Systems, and IT Project Management. Over the past several years, he has taught and supported tens of thousands of students across computer science and information technology programs.

Dr. Yasas has extensive experience designing practical, industry-focused learning experiences that help students understand complex technology in a clear and approachable way. His teaching combines real-world examples, hands-on exercises, and structured explanations so learners can apply concepts directly in their studies or careers.

His courses focus on helping learners build strong foundations in databases, information systems, project management, and emerging technologies such as AR, VR, and immersive computing.
