About me
Experience as a Developer
I was introduced to computers at a young age when the latest computers consisted of Vic 20's and Commodore 64's. I wrote many computer games out of the back of magazines back then for fun. I eventually started working with PC's and discovered the internet in the early 1990's and the wonderful world of HTML.
I started doing web development with this new markup language and learned how to connect web sites to databases with Active Server Pages and Visual Basic. Which lead to me being introduced to mobile devices. Having developed applications on many different platforms with just as many different languages over the years.
I eventually ended up at a game development studio working on the Sims 3 and then eventually moving to Madden Football on the Playstation Vita as well as the Major consoles and NCAA Football. I then took a turn at programming on the Unity platform for a mobile game before moving back to doing mobile development using Javascript with Knockout and some other Javascript frameworks.
This has lead me to eventually start developing online courses for clients using Captivate and other tools to provide safety training.
As an Instructor
I first started teaching as an instructor in my teenage years. I spent my summers sailing and eventually was skilled enough that I became a sail instructor. I taught over 100 different people the basics of sailing and how to properly handle a sailboat.
After this and few years later, I started instructing Karate and teaching people the finer points of how to kick and punch and assess them to move forward in their studies.
Over the last five years I have gone back to my roots with the Cadet program in Canada and returned to instructing youth in the finer points of outdoor survival skills, leadership and instructional technique.
