Nate Lopes, originally from Rhode Island has been performing at events as a DJ since the tender age of 13. Seriously. Since moving to the South Carolina, Nate has become the most in-demand DJ in Charleston. As DJ Natty Heavy, Nate performs hundreds of events every year.

DJ NattyHeavy has spun records alongside major acts like Snoop Dogg and Hootie & the Blowfish. He has rocked events with 50,000 people including major festivals, Bud Light events & is the official DJ for the College of Charleston Basketball program and The Charleston Riverdogs.

In the past 25 years, DJ NattyHeavy has gratefully performed at countless weddings, nightlife & private events.

DJ NattyHeavy has been voted “Charleston’s Best DJ” by the readers of the Charleston City Paper since 2013. He also holds “Charleston’s Choice 2017” from the Post & Courier. He boasts and NAACP award for community contributions through radio and is working on a pulitzer with his children’s book series “DJ Wicky Girl”
