I’m Mike, a teacher and gardener passionate about helping people create gardens that give back more than they take. Qualified in Permaculture Design (Oregon State University) and years of hands-on gardening experience, I’ve developed the Self-Sustaining Garden approach — a way of designing spaces that are low-maintenance, productive, and beautiful year-round.
Over the past decade, I’ve taught thousands of learners in classrooms and online. My style is clear, practical, and friendly — I focus on breaking complex ideas into simple steps that anyone can follow.
Gardening can feel overwhelming at first — plant names, endless advice, conflicting guidance. My courses are designed to cut through the noise, show you the key principles that actually matter, and give you confidence to enjoy your garden without stress.
Whether you have a small backyard or a larger plot, I’ll help you create a garden that supports both people and nature, while saving time, money, and effort.
