Matik Nicholls

Matik was born in the twin Caribbean islands of Trinidad & Tobago. He grew up climbing trees, frolicking in the waves, and surrounded by the vibrant creativity of the music and pageantry of the islands. At the age of 20, he gave his life to Christ but it was twenty years later, when he had a tangible experience with the love of God, that his life took on new meaning and purpose.

Authenticity is Matik's trademark. He strives to live his life in expanding ripples with Jesus at the centre but he is not ashamed to talk about his failures and shortcomings in a way that reveals the ongoing work of Christ in his journey. He is married to his partner in life, Tricia, and together they have a beautiful blended family of five children and one granddaughter. They love spending time running, surfing, hiking, and mountain biking.

Matik is an engineer by training but has spent most of his career in marketing and sales. He is currently the VP Commercial at a local natural gas processing company.

He has served the church in many different capacities but his dominant gift is teaching and leadership development. His passion is to inspire, equip and empower people to walk in their purpose and fulfill their potential. He is particularly passionate about wooing people from dutiful religion and surface Christianity toward an authentic, vibrant, and life-giving heart-to-heart relationship with Christ.
