Mariza Schutte Hamman

I’m a South African musician and educator with a Master’s degree in Music in performing arts. As a flute player, I have a lifelong love of music, particularly orchestral music, symphonies, opera and ballet.

My professional career has primarily been as a Hearing Aid Acoustician, helping people reconnect with the world of sound. This has given me a unique appreciation for how we hear, listen and experience music.

I created my music appreciation courses to make classical music approachable, enjoyable and easy to understand. You don’t need to be a musician or read music to appreciate the orchestra—just curiosity and a willingness to listen.

My goal is to help you discover the wonderful world of orchestral music and hear it with new ears.
