Mabuhay! I am Mai, also known as Ginang (Mrs.) to my students. I have taught Filipino language for over 16 years in San Diego, California at the college, high school, and elementary levels. Being a native speaker and a student of Filipino language and its structure, I built this online course and launched it in October 2019, to help make Filipino accessible to non-native speakers in our global community. With gratitude to all students of Filipino for our extraordinary experiences in the physical classroom, I am delighted to have this opportunity to help each learner acquire my heritage language through simplified concepts. In 2026, the  students in this course are from 88 countries! From classroom to online, I teach with much love and passion for lifelong learning and dedicate my efforts to all students of Filipino - past, present, and future.
