About me
I have been showcalling for more than 25 years on everything from small conferences to arena concerts across the UK and worldwide.
Storytelling is at the heart of both theatre and event showcalling. The core discipline is the same, the tools are different but the intention remains consistent. I think of showcalling as the story you and the client have created that you want to tell to the audience and I work with the narrative of my showbook to support you with this. This thinking is at the heart of these courses and the primary method by which I teach.
My theatre background gave me a way of thinking about live events - over 20 years including the National Theatre, the Old Vic, the Young Vic and as Company Manager for Les Misérables at the Palace Theatre.
I have called the 25th Anniversary Concerts of both Les Misérables at the O2 and Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall.
I work with production companies including Aspect, Imagination, Jack Morton, 2 Degrees Below, BCD, Bray Leino, GSMA for Cue to Cue, Brightfive, Emota, and many more. End clients across the spectrum of pharmaceutical, banking, big tech and government.
I have created this course because Event and Stage Management students need to better understand the production reality of live events before stepping into their professional lives beyond college.
