I’m a learning and development strategist and co-founder of an innovative education consulting firm called To Eleven. And yes, it's a 'Spinal Tap' reference! I have Ph.D. in Education from UCLA and have spent over two decades translating research into practical, actionable tools for organizations looking to improve how people learn.
I have partnered with a diverse range of organizations to design and implement effective learning strategies. Whether the goal is to shift culture, improve onboarding, or support the move to skills-based talent practices—I am committed to leveraging learning science to drive organizational success and employee development.
My recent work centers on supporting the shift to skills-based hiring—bringing learning science, behavioral psychology, and workforce research together to build more inclusive, agile, and effective organizations.
I write for Harvard Business Review, Fast Company, Training Industry Magazine, Chief Learning Officer, and have a regular blog for the Association for Talent Development. I also serve on the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America Post-Secondary Advisory Committee, teach for the UCLA Extension program, and am an advisor for the National Laboratory for Education Transformation. My writing focuses on the intersection of learning, leadership, and workplace culture. I also create courses where I help people move from awareness to action on complex workforce challenges.
My work is grounded in learning science—but also in the real-world complexities of navigating change, supporting growth, and building trust across teams. I believe that effective learning doesn’t just transfer knowledge; it changes behavior. And that starts with designing experiences people actually want to engage with.
I am originally from England and now live in southern California with my evolutionary biologist husband, three sons, and recent addition a golden retriever named Phoebe (yes, an homage to Friends!).
