Hello and welcome! My name is Julia Nelao, and I am the creator and presenter of the Getting Started with Projects in Practical course. With a strong academic background in IT and Project Management, I am passionate about sharing practical knowledge and real-world project management skills with others.

I completed my undergraduate studies at NUST in Namibia and went on to pursue postgraduate studies in Project Management at Stellenbosch University. Over the years, I’ve focused on developing my expertise in project management, earning as many certifications as I can to ensure I stay at the forefront of the field. My career journey has led me through various roles in IT, business analysis, and project management, and I currently work full-time as a project manager in the banking sector. In addition, I serve as a part-time project management consultant and tutor, helping others enhance their project management skills.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in the IT, mining, and banking sectors, and I’ve accumulated over 15 years of expertise in IT, business analysis, and project management. I hold a combined portfolio of five certifications, including certifications in project management, PMO Practitioner, risk management, and business analysis.

As the founder of PMA (Practical Mind Academy), a platform dedicated to practical learning, I’m excited to share my knowledge with you. At PMA, we focus on providing hands-on, real-world learning experiences that equip professionals with the skills needed to excel in their careers.
