Dr. Johanna has served as a teacher, assistant principal, and director for a large urban district in New York State, supervising ELA and Social Studies for K-12. Dr. David-Tramantano started teaching in 2001 in Washington Heights and now enjoys supporting pre and in-service teachers at the post-secondary level. She has served as a teacher, literacy coach, assistant principal, college professor, and district leader. Johanna is currently a director and educational consultant.
Dr. Johanna has a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning from NYU with a focus on literacy education, which she is passionate about. Her research focused on disciplinary literacy practices, focusing on the role of writing in math and science curricula. She believes in student-centered, equity-focused education and can’t wait to support the next generation of high-quality educators who will make a difference.
