Dr. Rakesh Jain is an engineer with MBA-Masters in Business Administration  and Doctorate in 'Feedback Management Skills for Decision Making'. Not many, world over have pursued research in an area different from their original area of education or training. His keen interest in study of benefits of right feedback at right time to the right person and the limitations of communication and feedback had driven him into research. This started over 39 years ago while analyzing impact of misleading feedback about him by a colleague and how his boss handled it. It aroused his interest in studying how people communicate and utilize the feedback provided to them in their personal and professional life, to take their day to day decisions.

He has rich experience in private, public sector & government organizations followed by 36 years in a top fortune 500 company- last position held, a General Manager. He taught MBA- Masters in Business Administration students in JCBUST-YMCA a very reputed university; trains engineers and technicians in industry besides engineering students on energy efficiency on behalf of Ministry of Petroleum & NG, Government of India. He is Chief Executive Officer of M/s BestPlant, an energy efficiency & training consultancy company. He is Bureau of Energy Efficiency (Ministry of Power, Government of India) certified energy manager too.

He worked in two Oil refineries & their headquarters of Indianoil, energy conservation organization, research organization, a television station and a power plant. He worked in fields like industrial plant operations & maintenance; energy auditing and public tendering etc. in key positions.. Multiple interactions with people from diverse backgrounds and in diverse environments helped him  include many real-case studies, experiences, issues and ground realities in a simple story telling style.
