I have been in the privileged position of counselling terminally ill people and those affected by cancer, depression, stress and anxiety for the last fifteen years. I was fascinated in finding out more about personal resilience, grit and how people coped in difficult times.

As a Master in Positive Psychology (MSc), I am able to bring you knowledge and insight into the ‘Science of Happiness’ and how to bring happiness into your everyday work and home lives.

I use Positive Psychology tools to help increase your confidence, well-being, self-esteem and help people to flourish and achieve their full potential. In Japan, there is a practice of when something precious breaks, like a vase it is repaired with gold adding value and beauty, this is called ‘Kintsugi’. For me and my clients, positive psychology focuses on the inner gold thread running through our bodies looking to heal and flourish given the right conditions, finding the gold within ourselves to shine and present to the world. We all go through personal difficulties but as a positive psychology counsellor I am looking for your gold.

From a personal point of view since starting my own positive psychology journey, I have never felt happier. I appreciate the smallest of moments and cultivate friendships; I’ve found my flow in dancing and most importantly I ask for help when I need it. I’m not afraid to be vulnerable, fail or look silly, I’ve become braver and more self-assured. I am now officially amazing, after becoming a Guinness World Record Holder for organising the largest Hula Hoop work out for Macmillan Cancer Trust. I’ve found my gold in the work that I cherish and the clients, I am honoured and privileged to work with.
