Brendan Bache, currently the drums instructor at Liberty Park Music, has been in love with the drum kit since the age of 8. His love for music spans many musical genres but his great passion is the study and performance Latin American music. This interest has led Brendan to study many Latin percussion instruments such as congas and bongos as well applying these rhythms to the drum kit.
Brendan has played the drum kit in many bands playing various styles from jazz to rock and folk. He has also played in ensembles using a wide variety of other percussion ranging from bodhran in an Irish folk band to percussion in an Afro-Cuban big band. His current latin jazz project Agua Pasa, play a diverse array of Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Brazilian music ranging from standards, to original compositions.
Brendan also enjoys transcribing music and in 2014 was employed to transcribe Marco Minnemann’s complex drum part in The Aristocrats 2013 album ‘Culture Clash’. The transcription is available through Jam Track Central.
Brendan first experience of teaching was teaching the drum kit in a music school in Northwich, Cheshire and he has since spent a year teaching English as a foreign language in China.
Since graduating from the University of Leeds with a 1st class honours degree in Popular and World Musics in 2013, Brendan has built up a substantial student base across West Yorkshire and boasts a 100% exam pass rate, with many students going on to perform professionally and succeed academically.
