Being Memorable for all the right Reasons!

Who is the best version of you when you stand up and speak? Too often we try to be somebody else, copy other peoples techniques, styles and stories rather than be the true authentic version of you.

You will discover here how to become a formidable and memorable speaker - one that truly stand out from the crowd.

+ Part 2 - Know your Power Story
1 lecture 05:41

Always start from a position of mental strength! What does this mean?

Too many speeches go wrong before they have even started - they go wrong before the day of the event.

Build your personal Power Story to help you perform no matter the situation!

+ Part 3 - Nerves or Adrenalin
1 lecture 07:36

Everybody has nerves - even those that say they don't, they do!

Nerves are a choice, we can all choose how we focus on them and how we want to interpret them - consider changing Nerves into Adrenalin in your minds eye - they are the same thing!

+ Part 4 - The Great Communicators
1 lecture 11:09

The great communicators straddle the generations and each one of them does it differently - the question has to be what can we learn from them? What we can develop into our style, our way of delivering?

Learn the techniques they use - the great communicators all learnt how to deliver their speeches, many had all sorts of challenges and self limiting beliefs in their own abilities.

+ Part 5 - The Art of Story Telling
1 lecture 06:19

Long lists of information, pie charts and graphs are guaranteed to send your audience to sleep - the key to engaging is to tell stories.

From the days when we were little we always listened to and remembered stories - now take that a step further into anecdotes, experiences or case studies these are all forms of story telling.

The Art of Story Telling

+ Part 6 - Structure
1 lecture 09:13

Don't patronise your audience, they are intelligent and they want you to be great because they know they won't get this time back.

Respect your audience by preparing for them, structuring the talk, pitch or speech so they know it is relevant for them and they are made to feel special. Long winded rambling rants are never well received, sticking to time is all part of your structure!

Structure Your Talk

+ Part 7 - Slideshare and Preparation
1 lecture 10:11

There are numerous courses all over the internet showing you how to create the slides for a speech, what should be included and what you should avoid.

Key challenge here is to reverse the effort level you put into your slides with the delivery preparation - if the average person spends 6 hours preparing for a speech - 5.5 hours is on the slides and 30 mins on the delivery - the challenge is to reverse this equation! Literally reverse the time allocation - practice to speech out loud to an audience more than once!!

+ Part 8 - Props
1 lecture 06:38

Not all circumstances are right for using props - however they can be great for anchoring a key message, creating a takeaway message or bringing some humour into the situation.

Making the choice is a challenge, we do not want to belittle the importance of the key message but we do want it to be remembered after the event.
